Statistical findings indicate: Only 17 percent of youth / 11 percent of parents, could name a specific authority to which they could report an Online / Internet crime. (Reference).
It is important to know how to obtain help on reporting an Online/ Internet / digital destination crime. Online Crimes can occur over several types of electronically based mediums (like a computer and/or phone/cable/satellite delivery systems, lines or wires). Remember, most Online crimes can be handled similarly to real world crimes. Laws for protecting children and families vary from state to state. Ask your local law enforcement agency to help you determine your legal rights and responsibilities. Laws can vary by nation, state, and locale, so become informed.
